Cheekku..The Kind Bird

Cheekku, a little bird, wanted to make a nest. She went to a big green tree and asked “Can I make a nest on your branch?”

The tree was very happy to give space on its branch. Cheekku made a nice nest on its branch. The thick crown of the tree kept Cheekku and her nest safe and sound even in strong wind, heavy rain and hot sun rays.

One day, the tree said. “Look Cheekku, a bird hunter is coming this way. You hide in my leaves quickly”

The frightened Cheekku hid inside the thick leaves and managed to escape from the hunter.

The happy Cheekku said “Thank you my friend. You saved my life. I’ll surely help you when you are in need”.

Days passed.. One day, a wood cutter came that way and started to cut the tree with an ax. Cheekku wanted to help the tree. But she could not do anything. The wood cutter cut the tree and took its branches away. The sad Cheekku looked at the stump of the cut tree, helplessly.

The stump said. “Cheekku… I’m still alive… give me some water.”

Cheekku went to the nearby river and started to make a narrow channel towards the stump using its claws. Water started to flow slowly towards the stump. Cheekku eagerly waited to see the tree growing again. Green leaves started to bloom on the stump and soon it became a little tree. Cheekku made a nest again on its branch and lived happily.

The Wicked Alien

One day, a giant alien – as big as the Earth – entered the solar system in a flying saucer to do something wrong. All planets wondered who the giant alien is. Why did he come to the solar system? The alien was roaming here and there, staring at each planet for some time.

All planets stopped spinning and started to watch the alien carefully. They were scared of the Alien because he was looking so wicked. Little planets Mercury and Venus ran away in fear.

All of a sudden the alien turned its flying saucer towards planet Earth. He said “this planet seems like a really interesting toy for me to play! The blue and green colors are cute. I can roll it like a ball, I can splash the water flowing on its surface, I can bully the little animals roaming in the green forests, I can break the big towers built on its land. And it is not too big like Jupiter or too tiny like Mercury. Wow! I can have a lot of fun with this planet”.

A very big net started coming out from the flying saucer to capture the Earth. The Earth started shivering in fear. The biggest planet Jupiter asked all other planets to encircle the alien. He asked the much powerful planet Saturn to destroy the flying saucer and chase away the alien. Saturn with its ring became a beyblade and hit the flying saucer with a bang. Yes.. The flying saucer is broken into pieces. The Alien flew away from the solar system. Earth thanked Saturn and other planets for saving it from the Alien.

Peacock with a Pink Tail

Pichu - the little peachick –heard a lot about rain, clouds, thunder and rainbows from his mom. “Monsoon will come and you can feel the rain drops, hear the thunder and you know, you may also get a chance to see beautiful rainbow in the sky.” Said his mom.

“Rain bow? What is it like?” asked Pichu. He did not have any idea on the shape, colors, and size of a rainbow. His mom said “It has seven colors. Red, orange, yellow, green, blue, indigo and violet!! You will start dancing when you see it in the sky”

Months passed. Pichu grew up a little and his beautiful tail also grew with him. He eagerly waited for Monsoon. Finally the rainy season came. He saw dark clouds in the sky… He heard loud thunder… He felt rain drops falling on his body. But he was not happy enough to open his tail wide and dance. He wanted to see the rainbow.

He prayed “Oh Rain God, Please show me a rainbow today.” The Rain God thought of making Pichu happy. He created a beautiful rainbow in the sky.

Pichu looked at it with great excitement and screamed, “Red, orange, yellow, green, blue, indigo and violet… yes… as mamma told it has all the seven colors” He thanked Rain God and asked one more wish. “Hey Rain God, just like this rainbow, could you make my tail a little more colorful?”

Rain God said… “Sure, I’ll make your tail look pink in color” Pichu liked that color a lot. Soon the color of his tail turned pink. He opened his pink tail wide and danced in rain.

The King-less Jungle

All the jungles had a king, but the Chingal Jungle was a king-less jungle. Do you know why the animals of this jungle did not have a King? Because the last king of the jungle – very old Laury lion - wanted a very powerful successor. Before dying, he kept his crown deep in a cave. He asked a dangerous dragon and a fire demon to guard the crown.

He called all animals for the last time and said “The most capable animal of the Jungle has to become the King. He has to fight with the dragon and fire demon and get the crown himself. Until we find that animal, Chingal will be a King-less jungle”.

Laury died. All the animals who tried to get the crown were defeated fiercely by the dragon and demon. They stopped trying to get the crown.

The jungle remained King-less for a longtime. Since there was no King to control the animals, all the animals fought with each other. No one lived peacefully in that jungle. Finally, all the animals got together to suggest the right person, who can defeat the dragon and demon.

They convinced Goru gorilla to try once. All animals liked him a lot. He was the most powerful and loyal animal of the jungle.

Finally Goru said. “Ok, if you all want me to do that I’ll give a try”. He gathered all his strength and started his Crown hunt attempt. He first had a fight with the fire demon. He jumped over the fire and hit him strongly with his leg. The demon was dead. Then came the dragon. Goru jumped and hung on a hanging rope and thrashed the dragon to death. He managed to reach the place where the Crown was kept. He wore the crown and came out winning.

All the animals celebrated Goru’s victory. Soon he became the King of the Jungle and ruled the jungle very well.

Spoty’s Space Trip

Spoty snake was a very adventurous space explorer. He knew that many astronauts had trips to planets and moon; but no one had a trip to the Sun, because Sun is very hot! But the bold Spoty wanted to go to the Sun.

Spoty invented a cool space exploration vehicle,  which would carry him all the way to the Sun. It was filled with cool air to keep his body cool during the space flight. It was made of glass so that he could watch the beautiful scenes of glowing galaxy.

The vehicle was ready. He sat inside the vehicle and started his journey to the Sun. The vehicle took him quickly out the Earth. He could not believe his eyes! He saw a lot of sparkling stars in the galaxy.  He controlled the vehicle and tried not to hit the moving asteroids. The orange colored Sun grew bigger and bigger as he came close to it.

The Sun saw someone coming close to it in a small space vehicle. He asked “who is that?”

Spoty said “I’m a little space explorer from Earth. Can I come and meet you?”

“I’m happy to welcome my first guest!” Said the Sun.

“ Oh Sun, but will you burn me into ashes?” asked Spoty.

“Don’t worry, I’ll stop my blazes till you go back.” Said the Sun.

The Sun did not burn Spoty and his space vehicle at all. He roamed around the Sun for some time and returned to Earth in his space exploration vehicle.

Sweety’s River Ride

Sweety butterfly lived near a beautiful river. She spent her time, flying around flowers and sucking nectar from them. One day, she met Jumpy fish, who lived in that river. Soon they became friends.

Everyday Sweety used to flutter her wings and fly above the river water, while Jumpy fish used to jump up and swim swiftly in the water.

One day Jumpy asked Sweety “Do you want to swim in the water… you will love it”. Sweety liked the idea. But she didn’t know how to swim.

Jumpy got an idea. He pulled a floating leaf and asked Sweety to sit on it. She sat on the leaf and it carried her along the waves.

Sweety enjoyed the gentle river ride. Both Jumpy and Sweety had a great time in the river. They played for the whole day in the river.

Jelly’s Day Out

Jelly was a little mermaid, who lived deep in the sea with her mom and dad. She was very bored of the deep sea life. She could see only sea animals and corals under the sea. One day she asked her parents “Mamma and Papa, can I go out near the sea shore to see a lot of new things around?” Her mamma and papa allowed her to go to the beach during the day time and asked her to come back before it gets dark.

She wore colorful new cloths and combed her hair well. She looked so beautiful. She swam all the way to the beach.

It was a sunny day. Jelly saw a lot of new things like a palm tree and mushrooms on the shore. A balloon was waiting for people to get into it through the steps and take them to the sky to enjoy the surrounding view. Jelly thought..."How nice it would be to take a balloon ride in the sky... Oh.. but I can't go in the air... I'm a mermaid".

Jelly started looking around. There was a colorful umbrella in the beach. Jelly was very happy to see the beach for the first time. She played there till the evening and went back to her parents when the sun was about to set. She thought one day she will take her mom and dad to see the wonderful scene of the beach.

Little Ganesha’s Birthday

Birthday of little Ganesha was nearing. Ganesha and his dad Lord Shiva sat together and made a lot of plans to celebrate his birthday. He invited all Gods for the grand party, arranged at Kailash.

On the day, he wore new cloths and got ready for the party. But he was very sad. He felt he looked very plain that day... He wanted to have better hair style, wear some more accessories and carry strong weapons, so that he looks more powerful and attractive. Naughty Ganesha thought of an idea. “Hmmm… I’ll ask my guests to gift me with the lovely accessories that they always wear and weapons that they always carry. None of them will refuse to give it to me if I ask today.. Because it is my birthday today”. The naughty Ganesha clearly planned what to ask from each of the people who would attend the party.

He started with his dad Lord Shiva. Shiva asked him “What do you want from me as your birthday gift?

“I want your hair style, along with rudraksha and crescent moon on it. I’ll look great if you can give me those”. Said Ganesha. Lord Shiva instantly created a stylish jooda and hair accessories and gifted those to little Ganesha.

Guests started arriving for the party. First one to come for the party was Lord Krishna. He asked little Ganesha. “What do you want from me as the birthday present?” He replied. “It would be great if you can give your mor pankh to me… I’ll look stunning if I wear them today”. Ganesha replied. Lord Krishna gave a few of his mor pankh to him and helped him wear it on his hair. Ganesha also asked Pitambara (the yellow clothing), similar to the one Krishna was wearing. Krishna happily presented him the same.

Lord Hanuman was the next to reach for the party. He asked Ganesha “What can I present you on your birthday?” Little Ganesha was so fond of his long tail and the Gada that he always carried. Hanuman instantly created a new tail and Gada for Ganesha and gifted him.

The last one to come was Sri Maha Kali. Ganesha wanted the sword from her, just to make him look more powerful. She was happy to present him the same.

Wearing all the accessories and carrying all the weapons that he got as gifts from other Gods, little Ganesha looked great on his birthday. The happy Ganesha thanked everyone. He gave great feast to all the guests and treated them nicely with laddoos.
